Akio Ikeda, MD, PhD, FACNS is the president of Japan Epilepsy Society (JES) (2017-) and the Chair of Commission on Asian and Oceanian Affairs (2017-) of the ILAE. Since 2013, the Professor of Department of Epilepsy, Movement Disorders and Physiology Kyoto University Graduate School of Medicine, Japan (http://epilepsy.med.kyoto-u.ac.jp/?lang=en)
Aside from his teaching and clinical roles, he is involved with numerous professional bodies: he is the incumbent Exco-Member of the Japanese SocietĪ³ of Clinical Neurophysiology, and holds various Council and Committee Member positions in the Japanese Neurological Society.
